Classical Civilisation is fundamental to developing cultural awareness, analytical thinking, and an understanding of the ancient world’s lasting influence on modern society. Key Stage 5
Our A Level Classical Civilisation course explores the literature, art, politics and beliefs of ancient Greece and Rome. Students engage with influential texts and ideas through epic poetry, Greek theatre, and Roman history, all studied in English translation. The course develops strong analytical and essay-writing skills while encouraging a deeper understanding of the ancient world and its lasting impact.
