    • Hire School Facilities

    At Kennet School, we take pride in our exceptional facilities, and we are delighted to share them with our local community! From our main hall and classrooms to specialist spaces such as gym and drama studio, our versatile spaces are available for hire when not in use by the school.

    Many local clubs, organisations and community groups use our facilities for a variety of activities, including amateur dramatics, Taekwondo classes, mindfulness courses, referee training, sequence dancing and community events (Newbury Transport Group; Thatcham Historical Society; Stamp Fair; Thatcham Festival and Berkshire Music Trust).

    We offer bookings during evenings, weekends and school holidays (excluding Bank and Public Holidays), making our spaces accessible to those looking for high-quality venues for education, sports, performing arts and community events.

    Price Guide

    Facility Rate
    Hall
    • £30 per hour for regular or second use
    • £35 per hour for one-off or first use
    • £40 per hour for function use (no performance equipment but supported set up)*
    • £60 per hour performance letting, plus setting up and clearing away charge (£20 per hour)
    Studio Theatre
    • £25 per hour for regular or second use
    • £30 per hour for one-off or first use
    • £35 per hour for function use (no performance equipment but supported set up)*
    • £50 per hour performance charges, plus setting up and clearing away charges (£20 per hour)
    Gym
    • £30 per hour for regular or second use
    • £35 per hour for one-off or first use
    Classroom/ Library/ Learning Hub
    • £25 per hour
    Field
    • £15 per hour

    *If hirers wish to use the school’s equipment, e.g. lighting or sound equipment, this will be negotiated separately and may necessitate the hiring of at least one of our technicians.

    Concessionary Rates
    Concessions, such as multiple spaces/areas of the school or charitable events, will be considered on an individual basis and are at the Headteacher's discretion.

    Premises Licence

    Whilst Kennet School's Main Hall has a premises' licence, it does not hold an alcohol licence. Therefore, the hirer may need to apply for a Temporary Event Notice (TEN) directly from West Berkshire Council >>> if required.

    No Smoking Sign

    Smoking/vaping is not permitted anywhere on site.

    No Dogs Sign

    No dogs are allowed on site, unless assistance dogs.

    Defibrillator Sign

    Two defibrillators are located on the school campus.
