How to Apply

Applying for Kennet Sixth Form is simple, and you can always keep in touch with us and ask questions about your courses if you wish to.

Step Action Required
1

Find Out About Kennet Sixth Form & Available Courses

We run an Open Evening in the Autumn term where you have the opportunity to talk to some of our existing Sixth Form students and teachers. You can also find information about our broad range of courses and many of our extensive enrichment opportunities.

2

Apply

To have access to all of our courses, you will need to ensure that you have completed your application online by mid-December, so you have a provisional place (subject to your GCSE exam results). You will receive an acknowledgement email after the application deadline before the Christmas break. Note: Whilst we will still consider applications until after results day, it will be dependent on available places.

3

Attend Your Application Interview

After your application, we will keep in touch by email, and then we will invite you to come to an application interview. If you are an:

  • existing Kennet student, these interviews will take place from February.
  • external applicant, we will arrange for you to have a tour and interview throughout the spring and summer terms.

As these interviews take place on a rolling basis, there is no need to be concerned if people you know are invited before you. All students have an equal chance of being offered a place.

Following your application interview, all being well, you will receive a provisional offer of a place.

4

Accept Your Provisional Place

Accept your provisional place and attend our Sixth Form Freshers Day in July. We do not operate a waiting list as we believe it is important for you to be able to plan with certainty where you will be studying after GCSEs. However, we are significantly oversubscribed, so we can only hold provisional places open for students who confirm their intention to study with us.

5

Enrol

You will be able to enrol on the day of your GCSE results in mid-August! It is important, wherever possible, that students do not take holidays around this time and are available to attend the enrolment meeting in person.

Once you have completed these steps, you will be ready to start this next phase of your educational journey with our Sixth Form Fresher days in September, which will help get you settled in.
