Key Stage 3
Pupils explore fundamental ethical and philosophical questions, different world views and major world religions. Lessons encourage debate, critical thinking and reflective writing.
Key Stage 4
The GCSE Ethics & Philosophy course covers key religious beliefs, ethical issues and philosophical arguments. Pupils study different religions, moral dilemmas, and contemporary ethical issues. Through engaging with this GCSE, pupils will leave Kennet School with the skills and knowledge required to join a flourishing multicultural and ethnically diverse global society.
Key Stage 5
The A Level: Philosophy two-year course involves rigorous analysis of philosophical texts, ethical theories and contemporary moral issues. Students engage in debates, critical essays and independent research projects.

Facilities
Our teaching staff are specialists in their fields and aim to transfer their passion for the subject to their pupils. There is access to a wealth of information and resources to take their learning further. The department also offers a number of enrichment activities, such as external guest speakers, which give pupils a greater understanding of the context surrounding their learning.
