Kennet School is has become a member of the WISDOM Research Network (Working In Schools to Deliver On Mental Health).
Kennet School is delighted to announce that it has become a member of the WISDOM Research Network (Working In Schools to Deliver On Mental Health), a national initiative led by the University of Oxford to improve understanding of young people’s mental health and to strengthen early support in schools.
The WISDOM Network connects schools with leading researchers in psychology, psychiatry and education to develop innovative approaches that prevent mental health problems, support wellbeing, and ensure children and young people have the tools to thrive.
“We are thrilled to be part of WISDOM,” said Ms G Rigg, Headteacher. “At Kennet, we believe that education must care for both mind and character. This partnership gives us access to world-class research and resources to help us support the wellbeing of our pupils and staff.”
Membership will allow Kennet School to participate in cutting-edge research projects, gather useful data on the school community, and access professional development focused on embedding mental health support into everyday practice.
“Our pupils will benefit enormously,” added Mr O Joyce, the school’s Mental Health Lead. “The WISDOM Network strengthens our mission to provide an education where every student can achieve academically and personally, while learning to care for themselves and others.”
The WISDOM Research Network is based at the University of Oxford and supported by an advisory group of leading experts in schools, education and mental health. Member schools also receive regular updates, resources, and opportunities to share practice and influence future research.
