Kennet School’s "Christmas Actually" enchanted audiences with a vibrant celebration of iconic holiday stories, skilfully blended into a heart-warming and entertaining performance.

The production brought together unforgettable moments from some of the most beloved holiday films and stories. The production wove together the  connections of "Love Actually," the mischievous adventures of "Home Alone," the joy-filled chaos of "Nativity," the quirky charm of "The Nightmare Before Christmas," the lessons of "The Grinch," the magic of "Miracle on 34th Street," and the action-packed thrill of "Die Hard." This unique performance celebrated the many sides of Christmas, capturing the laughter, love, and delightful chaos that define the season.

It was a true collaborative effort, showcasing the talents of Kennet pupils across various departments. Creative Director Rebecca Preston expressed her gratitude: "None of this would have been possible without the incredible dedication and creativity of so many people. A heartfelt thank you to the Dance and Drama departments for their tireless work in choreographing and staging each scene, bringing energy and emotion to every moment. The Art & Design department deserves special recognition for their stunning masks and puppets that have truly brought the magic of these stories to life."

Ms G Rigg, Headteacher, also praised the production: "Christmas Actually is a testament to the hard work, creativity and enthusiasm of our pupils and staff. It was wonderful to see the joy and excitement on the faces of both the performers and the audience. This event truly brought our school community together to celebrate the festive season."

The success of the production was also supported by the unwavering enthusiasm and care of the parents and carers. Their involvement in costumes, rehearsals and encouragement of the young performers made a significant difference, contributing to the overall success of the show.

The show was well-attended by parents, staff and community members, over two nights, all of whom left with high praise for the performance. The event created an uplifting and festive atmosphere, setting the perfect tone for the holiday season.

Kennet’s Headteacher concluded: “As we reflect on this celebration of holiday stories, "Christmas Actually" reminds us all the joy and wonder that makes this season so special. Merry Christmas from all the staff and pupils at Kennet School.”
