Kennet School is delighted to announce that it has retained its ‘Gold Shakespeare School’ status.
Kennet School is delighted to announce that it has retained its ‘Gold Shakespeare School’ status by the Coram Shakespeare Schools Foundation for yet another year, in recognition of its exceptional and sustained commitment to the Shakespeare Schools programme.
This prestigious award reflects Kennet School’s participation in more than seven consecutive festivals, celebrating the dedication, creativity, and hard work of both students and staff in bringing Shakespeare’s works to life on stage year after year.
The accolade recognises the school’s commitment to providing inspiring opportunities, encouraging community engagement by showcasing the talents of its pupils, and embedding personal development through its extensive creative arts programme. The school has also been commended for keeping creativity high on the agenda and supporting pupils in building crucial, transferable skills for their future.
Mrs Preston, Head of Drama, commented: “Kennet’s Drama Department continues to provide exciting opportunities for pupils. Coram Shakespeare Schools Foundation has engaged and developed the imaginations of our young people for over 15 years now. We always have fun, learn new techniques and make memories participating every year!”
Acting Executive Headteacher, Mr Gayler, added: “We know how outstanding our Drama team and pupils are, so it is really nice when others agree with us! Only the most dedicated Shakespeare Schools qualify for the Gold loyalty tier, so this award speaks for itself on the level of effort the Drama Department pours into their curriculum and co-curricular activities.”
Kennet School is immensely proud of this achievement and looks forward to continuing its partnership with Coram Shakespeare Schools Foundation, inspiring future generations through the power of performance.
