Offers Come Flooding In For Kennet Scholars

Kennet Sixth Form is celebrating exceptional achievements from students enrolled in its prestigious Academic Scholars programme, with this year’s A Level cohort securing a record number of impressive offers from highly competitive and Russell Group universities.
Designed to nurture high aspiration, intellectual curiosity, and academic ambition, the programme supports scholars through targeted mentoring, super-curricular enrichment, subject-specific guidance, and bespoke guidance for competitive university pathways. The outcomes reaffirm the programme’s impact and the dedication of both students and staff.
With 34 students on the Academic Scholars programme, they are set for remarkable A Level outcomes across a range of subjects. Many scholars have already secured offers from top-tier institutions (including Russell Group universities) and competitive courses such as Medicine, Veterinary Science, Engineering, Law and Mathematics .
Highlights of some of the offers include:
- Joe: Music at Oxford University, Bristol, York or King’s College London
- Maia: Biomedical Sciences at Oxford, Bath, Bristol, Cardiff or Warwick
- Sam: Chemical Engineering and Biotech at Cambridge, Bath, Imperial, Surrey or Southampton
- Nigel: Computer Science and Maths at Oxford, Bath, Bristol or Warwick
- Jack: Medicine at either Exeter or Warwick and awaiting two more responses
- Olivia: Classical Civilisation at King’s College London, Warwick, Birmingham, Bristol or Exeter universities
- Freddie: Biology at Bath, Bristol, Southampton or UCL
- Holly: Veterinary Medicine and Surgery at Nottingham or Bristol
- Joe: Mechanical Engineering at Manchester, Bristol or Southampton
- Tilly: Theatre Performance at Bristol, Leeds, York, Warwick or Surrey universities
- Harrison: Aerospace Engineering at Durham or Southampton universities
- Eva: History at Exeter, Bristol, Southampton, Manchester
- Albert: Engineering at Bath/Durham/Sheffield
- Emily: Veterinary Science at Surrey or Exeter universities
- Thomas: Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Durham or Exeter and awaiting two more responses
- Louie: Maths at Birmingham, Bristol, Nottingham or Warwick universities
- Vidisa: Law at Cardiff or Exeter and awaiting three more responses
- Joshua: Chemical Engineering at Birmingham, Bristol, Loughborough, Nottingham,
or Southampton universities.
Head of Sixth Form, Mr Tamale, praised the students’ commitment: “We are so proud of our Academic Scholars and the hard work they’ve been putting in since the start of their Sixth Form journey. We have exceeded the number of offers our students receive from Russell Group universities again this year which underlines the ambition and brilliance that these young people possess.”

Reflecting on his experience, Jack (Year 13) shared: “Kennet Scholars has empowered me to make an informed decision when selecting my university choices. The programme has continued to support me throughout the admissions process and will continue to prove a great opportunity during my interview preparation.”
The programme will continue to expand next year, offering an even broader range of opportunities, masterclasses, and partnerships with universities.
