House System

Kennet’s House System fosters a strong sense of community, teamwork and friendly competition, providing pupils with opportunities to develop leadership skills, build friendships across year groups, and take part in a variety of academic, sporting, and creative challenges throughout the year.

Upon admission, every pupil at Kennet School is assigned to one of four Houses:

This system ensures all pupils immediately feel part of a close-knit community.                 Kennet School St Patrick House Shield Logo

Each House is led by a Head of House, supported by two Deputy Heads of House. These senior members manage their Houses like small schools within the larger school and have the confidence and loyalty of their pupils. This structure helps even the least confident new pupils feel a strong sense of belonging.

All pupils have daily contact with their tutors, who provide immediate pastoral care and support. This consistent interaction ensures each pupil’s needs are met promptly and effectively.

Sixth Form students remain active members of the House system. They are expected and encouraged to develop their leadership skills through House activities which foster personal growth and community involvement. Each House as a House Captain/s.
