Kennet School’s dedication to the Arts is evident in our Platinum Artsmark, Shakespeare in Schools, Music Mark and Lead School for Music status. Every year, pupils from all year groups have the opportunity to be involved in a whole host of co-curricular dance, drama, and musical productions, the highlights of which are our House Performing Arts, devised, choreographed and directed by the Sixth Form House Captains, and our highly popular school productions.

We have showcased everything from Shakespeare to specially commissioned new pieces in recent years. We are fortunate to have the support of a full-time technical and design team, who help our talented actors produce first-rate productions at all school levels.

Music-making is integral to life at Kennet, and it is reflected in our diverse range of activities. There are plenty of opportunities to perform, from our showcase concerts for the most able musicians at Christmas and the end of the year to occasions for the Key Stage 3 strings, bands and choir to take to the stage. Music Technology also forms part of our core offering, and we boast a fully equipped Music Tech suite. We also offer a broad range of instrumental lessons from the Berkshire Music Trust, which has Kennet School as its base.
