Kennet School is a dynamic and ambitious 11-18 co-educational comprehensive school which opened in September 1957; now, as then, it serves the population of Thatcham and the surrounding villages. As the most over-subscribed school in West Berkshire, the school has grown steadily in terms of numbers on roll and, more importantly, facilities available to pupils and staff alike, in the pursuit of excellence. The school prides itself in collecting awards for the excellence of its academic teaching, pupil progress and extra curricular activities from Music through to Sport, Drama and even Equestrian Events.
Recent improvements to our facilities include a Technology Block, a superb Sixth Form Common Room, excellent Drama facilities and a school library which is the envy of many. We continue to invest heavily in the infrastructure for learning because we believe our pupils deserve the very best. Kennet School became an Outstanding Academy on 1 April 2011. Kennet School is a vibrant and ambitious place of learning and community activity. We invite you to learn more either through this website or by contacting the school directly.
